Research Interests

I work on variational analysis and nonsmooth optimization, with a particular interest in optimization problems involving eigenvalues. My reseach is supported by National Science Foundation Grant DMS-0504032.

I am a Co-Editor of Mathematical Programming Series A , and an Associate Editor of Mathematics of Operations Research , of the SIAM Journal on Matrix Analysis and Applications , and of the MPS/SIAM Series on Optimization . I was an Associate Editor of the SIAM Journal on Optimization from 1994 to 2007. I also serve as Treasurer of Foundations of Computational Mathematics .
