About me

I am a Ph.D. student in Cornell University at the School of Operations Research and Information Engineering. I am originally from Minsk, Belarus. In 1998, my family moved to the United States, and I have been living in New York ever since.

Research interests

My interests are in nonsmooth optimization, variational analysis, and the connections of these disciplines to semi-algebraic geometry. In particular, I enjoy working on problems exhibiting strong structural properties. The interplay between geometry, analysis, and optimization has been central in my work. My Ph.D. advisor is Adrian S. Lewis.

Activities

In my spare time, I enjoy playing basketball and tennis, as well as lifting weights. I am also a big fan of eating good food.
